Here are three things most drivers get wrong when learning to drift:

1. Not enough throttle
Being scared of the gas will only hurt you. More throttle actually makes the drift easier by stabilizing the car and keeping the rear wheels spinning.

2. Countersteer timing
If you spin immediately, it’s usually because the wheel isn’t rotating fast enough, or you held it too long and let go too late. Proper countersteer timing is everything.

3. Vision
The car will go exactly where you look. If you stare at the wall, that’s where you’re headed. Don’t overthink it, look where you want the car to go.
